The Stretch2Engage (S2E) project’s purpose is to develop a contemporary set of best practice principles that underpin great service engagement activities for service improvement in Queensland’s mental health, alcohol and other drug sectors. The project is funded by the Queensland Mental Health Commission (QMHC) as part of its commitment to the Queensland Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Strategic Plan 2014-2019.
The S2E project team is a partnership between the Queensland Alliance for Mental Health (Sue Pope), QNADA (Rebecca MacBean) and Enlightened Consultants (Helen Glover). The project has a number of phases. Phase 1 and 2 involved a literature review and wide consultation to develop a draft set of principles.
Currently, the project is in phase three which involves testing the draft principles in face-to-face sessions. The S2E team have been busy travelling around to undertake these sessions conducted in Cairns (29 June), Toowoomba (7 July) and Brisbane (8 July) and included by both service providers and people accessing services. Thanks so much to all the participants in these testing session for your knowledge, insight and enthusiasm. The fourth and final phase will include collation of all the feedback we have received around the draft principles and including these in a final report and recommendations to the QMHC.
