NDIS Workshops: Are you inclusion ready as Queensland moves into the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is about improving services for people with disability and building inclusive communities that will be better for everyone.
Genuine and meaningful community inclusion, which will optimise the social and economic independence and full participation of people with disability, can only be achieved when people with disability, along with their governments and communities at all levels, work together.
This is why the NDIA has an Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) Program to encourage communities to be more inclusive of people with disability. While ILC funding is distributed through grants, ILC is more than an ordinary grants program – it is a catalyst for change.
To help you get ready for ILC activities in Queensland later this year, the Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA) is partnering with National Disability Services (NDS) to help you, your organisation and your community better understand inclusion and how you might contribute.
At locations across Queensland our program will include:
- An Introductory Workshop which will give a base level introduction to the NDIS, the ILC and Inclusion Readiness
- A ILC Application Skills Workshop to build capability and capacity in organisations seeking to make and ILC application – whether individually or in collaboration
- A Test & Check Panel to provide feedback on applications prior to submission
